neutral territory, many species, no government. north america isn't the same as it was three hundred years ago, even though the name has remained the same. rather than being divided into states, its divided into colonies across the country. there are no definite rulers and the land is vastly neutral, just like avalon island. all types of species live here. the coastal areas are known party spots.

ancient territory, monarchy. south america has flourished since the plague and is now back to its rich vibrant state. rainforests thrive now that mortal interference is no longer threatening them. south america is now home to the ancients and they reside in their mountain castle ruled by king icarus and his sister. they don't often take kindly to strangers, but many ancients are coming to terms with the times in which they live and are branching outwards.

neutral territory. central america is the world's biggest party spot these days. college kids on break come here and party the day away, pass out, and then do it all again the next day. the nights get wild in central america, however, you absolutely must watch out for your well-being as well as personal property. unsavory characters come here as well to rip off the naive.

demon territory, monarchy, vampire territory, coven. another land that's maintained its original name, europe is almost the same as it was before the plague. however, the main 'states' in europe have been taken over by larger powers. its the smallest continent still remaining but its popularity is growing with certain species: mostly vampires and demons. you can find quite populated areas and many a coven and house of nobility wherever you go--the most notable being the house of noctis and dragomir coven. good luck trying to get here. the locals are very torn when it comes to letting tourists among their ranks and, usually, the ports are closed to only licensed ships. many of the 'states' have had domes built around them to ward off the daylight, leaving the land in eternal states of twilight, thus allowing vampires to stroll around during the day. there's constant fighting between the people of power here and the crime rates are higher here than anywhere in the world.

angel territory, monarchy. formerly known as asia, moirai is now home to a gigantic population of angels. that's not to say that other species don't make their homes here as well, but most likely you'll see the aforementioned around town. moirai includes all the old 'states' of asia plus all the surrounding islands. moirai is a large continent and a lot of the land is used, but you'll still find some forests and natural habitats between all the hustle and bustle. old-world japan is no longer home to the largest population and most of the buildings have been torn down in order to make room for wildlife. no longer containing separate 'states', moirai is one huge axis power. unfortunately, moirai is also home to one of the biggest underground markets for dirty dealings. moirai is a kingdom responsible for much of the architecture and artwork of the new world. they are also the second most wealthy continent, after savannah, and are known for their exports.

shapeshifter territory, packs. in the past, this was africa, now they just call it savannah. its widely uninhabited by any other species, save for the abundance of animals and shifters. many, many packs of shifters have taken up living here due to the conditions and the wildlife around them. they are divided into the northern and southern groups. many of the animals that were stuck in zoos have been relocated here and are happier for it. the only portion of savannah that is uninhabited is cape horn, with good reason. crops are grown in savannah and the food produced and harvested by the shifter packs that live there are shipped around the world. they remain the export capital of the new world.

siren territory, monarchy. once known as australia...oceania hasn't really changed much. oceania has to be the most diverse and laid-back part of the new world, despite being ruled by a siren king and queen. it is still a big tourist trap, perhaps even more so now. wealthy business men and women come here to get a bit more excitement in their lives. like savannah, it has a huge array of wildlife that roam free thanks to help from kind individuals. the beaches here are unparalleled anywhere and its not uncommon to see people skipping school or work just to hang out. crime here isn't as prominent as anywhere else and its thought that its just because people don't care about what they don't have and just live in the moment.

elven territory, monarchy. formerly known as madagascar before the plague overtook, the newly--and by newly we mean in the last 300 years--appointed terravita is the new home of the elven kingdom. the island itself hasn't changed much, only making way for the elven castle and city and, of course, their mindwalk. the jungles are lusher than ever, however, and life is thriving more than it ever has. endangered species are coming back now, full force but, of course, the circle of life still goes on.

faerie territory, monarchy. located in their very own realm, only accessible via various 'faerie circles' around different portions of the world, we have the faeries. they are often very secluded and incredibly possessive over their things, especially their realm. they rarely let anyone use the portals and they choose to be vastly indifferent to the plights around them. rich with forests and wildlife, the king and queen rule rather selfishly all while pretending that they're all for their people. regardless, there aren't many social distinctions here and everyone is pretty much treated the same way.

valkyrie territory, monarchy. like an image straight from a science fiction novel, elysian is an island floating about fifty thousand feet in the air over what was called the 'bermuda triangle'. invisibly tethered, this floating island is home to a giant valkyrie population and ruled by the infamous king odin and his queen, freyja. elysian is a beautiful place with the castle in the center and a town below. freyja's golden field stretches for miles and mile. the valkyrie here treat their king and queen with the utmost respect and have taken a vow to be loyal to them until the very end. the residents here are unwilling to let strangers into their ranks, and forget any other species. the king and queen are very particular and elysian is an entirely self-reliant continent.

uninhabited. a harsh tundra of ice and snow, the wastelands are vasty uninhabited. the weather is fickle and harsh and its not a nice place to live. the only locals are animals native to this portion of the world as well as some arctic shifters.

there are less airplanes that fly through various parts of the skies and on any given day you can see an angel or dragon spreading its wings and taking flight. as well, you may see the occasional airship in motion though, whether its a legitimate carrier ship or a sky pirate's, well, you never know.

there's sometimes a lot of traffic on the open ocean, what with passenger ships, fishing ships, and various creatures that can swim, you have to be careful. who knows, you may see the occasional pirate ship while you're out there.
